Graham Lee winner of today's comp with a great score of 38 points
Bathurst Golf vets game report for Monday April 14
Hi everyone,
Another big field of 52 golfers turned out for a game of vets’ golf at Bathurst today.
The weather was excellent for this time of the year and so was the golf played with half the field scoring 32 points or more for the round. Countbacks required to decide all prize winners and the ball sweep. We had three players scoring 38 points, two with 37 and three with 36.
On to results
The best players on the day with scores 38 points were Grahm Lee, Mark McKinnon and John Fagan. When the dust settled the computer gave Graham Lee (back nine 19 points) first place, second place went to Mark McKinnon (back nine 18 points) and John Fagan (back nine 17 points) got third place. John must have got tired on the back nine after an early start to watch the Masters.
Another countback was also required to decide 4th and 5th place when Manuel Pro and Wayne Chandler both returned scores of 37 points Manuel’s 19 points on the back nine got him 4th place with Wayne settling for 5th.
The last $20 Proshop prize went to Troy Swadling with 36 points on a countback from Garry Pomeroy and Gary Miles.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Manuel Pro on the 4th, David Travis on the 8th, and Peter Warren on the 13th. No one hit the green on the 16th which was surprising considering all the good scores.
