Bathurst Golf vets report for Monday, September 30

Hi everyone,

A good field of 35 Bathurst vets, including 8 visiting vets from Lithgow Golf club enjoyed a game of vets’ golf at the club today. A reasonable run on the fairways and the slow greens are a good recipe for vets to score well and so it was today needing to score 38 points to have chance of a voucher.

Best of all was Gary Miles who took out first prize with 39 points. Gary played solid golf on the first nine for 18 points and backed it up on the back nine for 21 points.

There was a three-way countback to determine the rest of the place getters when Russell McCarthy, Neil Larcombe and Glenn Campbell all returned score of 38 points. When the dust settled the computer gave Russell 2nd place, Neil 3rd and Glenn took out the last voucher with 4th place.

The ball sweep went down to 32 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Robert Peachman on the 4th, James Johnson on the 8th, Neil Larcombe on the 12th and Chris Hadson on the 16th.

Due to the Public Holiday, there will be no Local vets comp on Monday October 7.

Next game of local vets’ comp will be on Monday October 14.
