Bathurst Golf Vets report for game played Monday, August 19

Hi everyone,

Due to the very wet course conditions carts were not allowed on the course today which reduce the field to 16 players.

The small field didn’t take any thing away from the quality of the golf  with none better than Peter Heffernan who played excellent golf to take out first place with 37 points.

A countback was required to decide second place when Eric Denholm and Garry Pomeroy both returned cards of 35 points. Eric’s better back nine that included 11 points in his last four holes was enough for him to take out the second-place voucher. Garry shouldn’t be too disappointed he got a ball on the ball sweep and nearest to the pin on the 8th (12 cm from the hole) and the 13th.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Perter Chaffey on the 4th, Garry Pomeroy on the 8th and 13th, and Alex Blackett on the 16th.

Next Central West vets’ game will be at Wentworth Golf course on Monday August 26.
