Al Hammond checking his card after a great round of 40 points to win the comp
Bathurst Golf vets report for Monday May 27
Hi everyone,
Anyone who thicks that playing vets is easy picking to win a voucher or a ball in the nearest to the pin comp better start thinking again and bring their A game with them when they come to play, because unless you play your best golf you may just be lucky enough to get a ball on the ball sweep.
Gary Miles brought his A game with him today and had a Hole-in-One on the 16th. Yes, it was the 16th, the hardest par three on the course. It wasn’t enough for Gary to win today’s comp, that honour went to Al Hammond who had a very impressive 40 points. Gary had to settle for second place with 38 points.
David Gates was third with 36 points. A three-way count back was required to determined fourth and fifth place when Martin Everett, Eric Denholm and Bob Lockhart all returned cards of 35 points. Martin and Eric walked away with the vouchers and Bob had to settle with a ball in the ball sweep.
The ball sweep went down to 32 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Glenn Campbell on the 4th, Darren Healy on the 8th, Jody Packer on the 13th and Gary Miles, the Hole-in-One man on the 16th.
