Bathurst Golf vets report for game played Monday, Feb 12.

Hi everyone,

Some housekeeping to start with.

There will be no Bathurst vets’ game next Monday, Feb 19, due to the coring of the greens. It doesn’t mean that you will miss out of a Monday game. The Central West vest will be playing at Canowindra so make the trip and enjoy a good day of golf and some of the best country golf hospitality you will ever have.

Also, please don’t use pen when writing the nearest to the pin names, they are too hard to clean off. Use pencil only.

On to results

A countback was needed to decide today’s winner when Bobby Lockhart and Eric Denholme returned scores of 36 points. Eric had the better front nine with 21 points to Bobbies 19 points, but a slow start on the back nine of only 15 points costed Eric the win with Bobbie scoring 17 points to be the winner on a countback.

Third on the podium was Paul Stirling with 35 points and Gary Miles got fourth with 33 points.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points on a countback and the nearest to the pin winners were Neil Larcombe on the 4th, David Bromhead on the 8th, Paul Stirling on the 13th and Garry Giddings on the 16th.

Next game of Central west vets will be Canowindra of Monday February 19.

Canowindra is a walk up start so get there between 8:00 and 9:00 to get a game.
