Bathurst golf vets’ results for Monday March 31

Hi everyone,

Another solid field of 42 Bathurst vets turned out to play a round of vets’ golf on Monday March 31.

Over the last few weeks, several club members have decided to give Monday’s vets golf a go and by the look of their scores they are enjoying themselves picking up some of the winning vouchers. My advice to them is, don’t be fooled, enjoy it while you can. Winning vets’ comps is not as easy as it appears to be.

On to golf results.

Best player today was Michael Selman with an excellent score of 39 points. Michael started slowly with 17 points on the front nine but came on with a wet sail to score 22 points on the back nine.

We had a two-way countback to decide 2nd and 3rd place when Terry Chifley and Geoff Marshall both returned scored of 37 points. Terry’s back nine of 20 points got him over the line for second place with Geoff settling for 3rd.

Another countback was also required to decide 4th and 5th place winners when Bob Lockhart, Brian Hope and Manuel Pro all had scores of 36 points. Bob’s 19 points on the back nine got him 4th, Brian’s 18 points got him the 5th place voucher. Manuel ran out of puff on the back nine and had to settled for a ball on the ball sweep. 

The ball sweep went down to 31 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Mick Selman on the 4th, Dale Salter on the 8th, Tony Farr on the 13th and Terry Chifley on the 16th.

Some housekeeping to finish with. 

Vets winning vouchers are credited to your Proshop account that can be used to purchase goods from the Proshop. However, Matt will be leaving on the next few days. If you don’t get a chance to use your credits, don’t worry, you will be able to use them at the golf shop that Matt will set up at the driving range.

Next game of local vets will be on Monday April 7.
