Geoff Coleman enjoying a glass of wine after scoring 39 points today

Bathurst golf vets report for game played December 2

Hi everyone,

It was a welcome change to see the sun shining brightly after all the rain we had on the weekend. The fairways had a reasonable amount of run, and the greens were of good pace which was a recipe for good scoring for the 42 vets that turned up for our Mondays’ vets comp.

A three-way countback was required to decide 1st to 3rd places when three players returned scores of 39 points.

When the dust settled and the computer calculated the scores on the back nine, it found that Don Hinks’ 22 points got him first place. Geoff Coleman settled for second with 21 points and Peter Warren was given third place with 17 points.

There was a four-way countback to decide 4th and 5th place when four players returned scores of 35 points. Bill Lambert’s 20 points on the back nine got him 4th place, Chris Hadson’s 19 points got him 5th place and unfortunately for Stephen Ousby and Eric Denholm they had to settle for a ball on the ball sweep

The ball sweep went down to 30 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Peter Chaffey on the 4th and 8th, Darrell Bourke on the 13th. The marker was not put out on the 16th so anybody who got on the green can help themselves to a ball from the ball box.

Next game of local vet golf will be on Monday December 9

Next game of Central West vets will be a Molong on Monday December 9

Good golfing everyone
