Bathurst vet golfers enjoying a drink after the game
Bathurst Golf Vets results for game played Monday, April 7
Hi everyone,
Some housekeeping to start with.
As you would know by now, Tom Perfect has taken up the position Proshop Manager from today. All indications are that arrangement regarding the running of Monday vets’ competitions will continue as previously. Winning prizes will be credited directly to your Proshop account. You will be able to use them to make Proshop purchases. You can also collect the ball sweep and nearest to the pin balls from the vets’ box placed on the bench tables outside.
Don’t forget to cross your name off.
On to today’s game. Another good field of 37 golfers that included many newcomers to vets’ golf, played in Monday’s vets comp at the club today. The weather was good and so were the scores with players having to play to their handicap or better to be considered for a prize voucher.
A countback was required to decide today’s winner when Paul Smith and Alex Smith both played excellent golf returning scores of 41 points. Paul got the edge over Alex with a better back nine of 23 points to take out first place. Alex had to settled for second place with 22 points on his back nine. He may lament the double bogies in the last two holes that costing first place.
Third place went Stephen Dury, a newcomer to vets golf, with a score of 38 points.
Another countback was required to find fourth place when Gary Miles and Neil Larcombe both had scores of 36 points. Gary was the lucky winner of fourth place by the nearest of margins.
The ball sweep went down to 31 points and the nearest to the pin winners were Neil Larcombe on the 4th, Paul Stirling on the 8th, Mick Selman on the 13th and Ian Hart on the 16th.
