Bathurst Golf Vets report for Monday, July 31

Hi everyone,

Another good day of vet’s competition golf attended by 33 very keen veteran golfers at the Bathurst golf club. The weather was excellent and so was the quality of the golf played, needing to play better than your handicap to pick up a winning voucher.

The winner on the day was Paul Smith but only on a countback after he and Doug Collins both returned score cards of 38 points. A countback was also required to find 3rd and 4th place with Alex Blackett and Garry Giddings both came home with 37 points. Alex got 3rd by the nearest of margins.

The ball sweep went down to 32 points and the nearest to pin winners were Danny Gooley on the 4th, Martin Everett on the 8th, Paul Rosconi on the 13th and Danny Gooley, again on the 16th.

Some housekeeping.- we will always have nearest to the pins on the 4th, 8th, 13th, and 16th, if for whatever reason the markers are not out, make one up with some paper and stick it on the green with a golf tee.

Next round of Central West vet’s golf will be at Blayney on Monday August 7.
